Final Note –
There is more, more, more to learn about interactive design and animation for the web than we were able to cover in this semester. Luckily so much information is available to you online. Use it! The more you study the better you will get and the more it all begins to make sense. As technology is ever-improving the possibilities are truly amazing. It’s incredibly time-consuming to learn but it is all there for you…
I look froward to seeing where you decide to go with it. Here are a few links that will lead you to more links. Keep me posted as to what you are working on! Best of luck – and enjoy your summer!!

ADV3662 – Week 14
Hello folks!
Here you can see the scripting lesson from last week’s class – lesson-week13
(Edge Animate 1.5)
This Monday we will review last weeks lesson.
Due: The final project will be due the falling week. The requirement for the final is a fully functional slideshow. If you look back to week9 to the handout ‘ADV3662_SiteStructure’ that will serve as the general guide. I have scaled back the requirement to one fully functional slide-show. I will give points to those of you who explore alternative ways to present content through the interactive features we have covered in class. Especially those who explore the possibilities of working with symbols.
Lesson – Review Adding Basic Interactivity to Edge Animate
- Upgrading to Edge Animate 1.5
- Understanding basic syntax of Java Script
- Timeline triggers
- Creating buttons
- Events and actions
- Navigating the code panel
- Creating labels
- Working with the timeline of a Symbol

ADV3662 – Week12 & 13
Hello everyone –
As a quick fix to the problem of finding a computer lab to work on that allows Edge Animate outside the classroom I spoke with two instructors, Prof Ritter and Prof Wong. They will open up their classrooms to you during the week. Please note their classes will be in session, so if there are open seats you are welcome to quietly use them. Here is the schedule:
Monday 8–11:20AM in room N1104
Tuesday 6–9:20PM in N1102
Weds 8AM-11:30AM in G204
Weds 4:15-5:15PM in N1117
It’s not a perfect solution, but at least it gives a little more time to work outside of class. You will still need to bring the software with you.
DUE: Layer Comp of Project2 – this should show what the slideshow will look like. The goal is to have all the images worked out.
